so long, farewell, goodbye, sayonara, selamat jalan, zai jian, to 2006!

title adapted from Mr. Teo's favourite way of bidding goodbye to each maths chapter (:

monk's coming back tonight!!!
he was supposed to come home yesterday, but apparently, the flight was full so they had to wait till today...
cant wait to see him!!! (and the presents of course! hee..)
these few days have been really nice get-togethers for me! -beams-

firstly was Claire's birthday on 26th december!!! (:

Happy Birthday Clairey Dearest!

Me, Claire, Ying Xiu, Christina, Clarissa.

it's disgusting. it's hideous. it's grotesque.but,
we're lovin' it.

28th December 2006
watched Curse of the Golden Flower with mummy!!!
can you believe it? I WATCHED A MOVIE WITH MY M-U-M!
she's always complaining that movies are a waste of money, and the movie we ever watched together was "I Not Stupid".
just me and her.

29th December 2006
Visit to new Dunman's Campus at Mt.Senai with Xiu Yi, Doris, Rachel!!! (and Nita & Ying Tong too, although they weren't part of the plan.. haha.)
helped the juniors practice Long Teng for Orientation... (which was pretty disgusting)

My legs on Xiu Yi's legs, Doris's leg on my legs, Rachel's leg on Doris's leg.
ah ha ha.
this is what bored, crazy and deranged seniors do when they are utterly disgusted by the standards of juniors.
they find amusements amongst themselves!!

At Buona Vista MRT after lunch at a nearby hawker. Rachel managed to break down the machine!

30th December 2006

DHSCO GUANYUE BBQ!

yu bo saved a very unhappy and demoralised debbie because weicheng said her batch was the "biggest" aka oldest.
seniors: Yu Bo, Wei Xiong, Debbie, Colin, Cheryl, Joel, Giap Seng, Jieren, Stefanie, Pei Wen, Doris, Rachel, Justine, Kelvin, Me, Clara, Cephia, Hui Qi, Jing Mei, Ruth!
yeap. i guess that was all.

Guan Yue BBQ 2006

carn believe that we're actually not the "youngest" seniors now...
oh! and Benice, Sze Lang, Lin Li came after the "older seniors" (aka 20 and above) left for supper.
we played bridge. ah lang would never fail to crack any of us up.
"oh! you're attached?! can i download you?!"
this was one of the classics that i would always remember amongst all the other "Ah Lang Jokes".
at eleven, my dad came to fetch us home.
doris and i left, with teary eyes and tummy aches from all the laughing.
wait, we still haven't heard the player analysis from Benice!!! >.<

i hope i've something to look forward to tonight...
COUNTDOWN! (please! i hope i can go. haha.)

lovely surprise!

apart from the drilling and the crankiness and being so pissed off with listening to the drowning voices of the desperate housewives, today was an accomplished day!

clarissa messaged me around 4 to say that clairey was super sad because none of the nigus remembered her birthday!
only clarissa msged her.
chloe thought claire's still in m'sia.
christina, being the blur one, forgot(i think)
me, (wanted to do the "last min" greeting thingy i did on Jia Jia)
jia jia, well, still in M'sia!

so clarissa & i planned to surprise claire, somehow.
we dont know how.
so the entire planning began...
clarissa called chris while i called claire's mum to check if it's possible that we go to her house, and also to find out claire's whereabouts.
but surprise surprise!
claire's mum told us somebody is already at the house!!!
so who is this mysterious person???
she said it's a tall girl cooking pineapple rice (huh huh huh???)
and that this girl came last year too. (ding ding ding! last yr?!?!)
so i suspected it's Ying Xiu or Sophia.
i asked Clarissa to find out from Hui Ping and TADA!!!
indeed, it was Tan Ying Xiu!!!
so we proceeded with our plans, i bake brownies and we meet at Tanah Merah and surprise!!!

but stupid Tan Ying Xiu's phone had to go flat at this critical moment! (she's supposed to tell claire she cant make it to Orchard and den Claire's mum will call her to ask her to come home and eat!) so duh, obviously she cant make the call with a flat phone. cant use claire's house phone too, duh.
so I had to, instead, phone claire & tell her some bull story that i broke up with monk (choy!) and that i'm super duper sad now i need to talk to her desperately.
but you know, once claire's out, she doesn't want to return home. (and vice versa)
so instead of asking me to meet at her house, she suggested anywhere anyplace in Singapore, BUT HER HOUSE.
so in the end, i had to tell her i just met him at TM, and i'm super sad now i cant go anywhere but her house (since i'm already on the train and at tanah merah station. i even had to crap that i didn't feel like going orchard or anywhere else that she suggested cuz it's too "happy", "noisy" and "festive" )
i even had to pretend to cry to force her to come home.
but oh wells, my acting skills was damn good. she chiong-ed home.
and we helped Ying Xiu prepare the pineapple rice and the tons of things she hasn't got ready yet.

den when Claire was reaching home, i waited for her in the living room.
and i had to pretend to be crying melancholy.
and when she came, i just had to hug her and pretend to sob cuz i was so afraid my expression would give way.
my job was to bring her to her room so that the rest (christina who joined us later, clarissa & ying xiu) can bring the food out and surprise her.
but HUNGRY and GREEDY claire headed straight for the kitchen when i said i wanted to talk in her room, claiming that she wants to get me a drink. so nice of her! (but she later admitted that she also wanted to get an apple to eat! that's why she was so insistent when i told her NO NEED WATER!!! )

DENG DENG DENG!
big EXPOSÉ.
but not too bad cuz claire got the shock of her life.
seeing THREE friends in her kitchen instead of her maid and the kitchen IN A MESS she had never ever seen before.
(((:

it was such a nice get-together session we had!
4 nigus + yingxiu (((:
what a lovely surprise!
i'll upload the pictures later cuz the connection is so damn SLOW.
this is super nice of claire!!!
she wanted to cheer me up and she bought me Mrs. Fields cookies (((:
i'm so touched!!!

having known you for five years now claire, i really dont know what to say...
my life would be so imperfect without you, throughout my four years in Dunman.
always the crazy girl doing the crazy things with me. be it the S.H.E, the TST, the "Siao" Huas, the e5n.netz or the nigus, you've always been a part of my life. and not to mention, a part of me. i cannot imagine my life without you. it's simply inconceivable. we've been there for each other since so long! and although we weren't always so close every minute and every second of our lives, our hearts were still strung together by the strong bond we've created since sec 1. (i'm rather thankful for gsh for that matter you know. haha. for i somehow feel that she helped in strengthening our friendship and trust..)
i'm so thankful for a friend like you.
someone i can trust so wholeheartedly.
and you never fail to surprise me and touch me, so deeply.
like the time you cried for me (outside school hall) when i scored so badly for prelims and how you were, so worried for me.
and this time, you were so concerned, albeit it's your birthday! (and of course, the story wasn't true at all) you were so spontaneously willing to share your birthday time, listening to my woes and sad love story.. and even so thoughtful to buy me cookies! (with "therapeautical chocolates" in it. haha.)
i just want to say Happy Seventeenth Birthday,Claire!
and i really hope we'd be friends for as long as we can be...

new friends are silver, old friends are gold.
but you;
you are a jewel to me.
encrusted on my heart (:

hey you! that's it! that's the bombshell!!!

pitter patter and drilling

pitter patter
pitter patter
pitter patter
pitter patter
"gazzzzzzzzzznnnnnnnggggg"
"gazzzzzzzzzznnnnnnnggggg"
"gazzzzzzzzzznnnnnnnggggg"
"gazzzzzzzzzznnnnnnnggggg"

these were what awoke me today.
the sound of consistent rain, and not to mention, consistent drilling!

those bloody idiots.
CAN THEY GET DONE WITH THE DRILLING ONCE AND FOR ALL?
i mean, i understand the new neighbour upstairs is also doing the same thing we did; knock off the wall and converting squeezy 3rooms into spacious 2rooms.and also the stupid storeroom.
but, it's getting annoying.
like when i thought the drilling is ONCE AND FOR ALL OVER, and happily click the "play" button, resuming my consistently paused Desperate Housewives, they start drilling again.
they are just so close to toeing the line. MY LINE.

and with weather like that, i cant even escape from home to find haven.
even blasting music that blares my eardrums on the streets out there are better than the consistent drilling.

rain rain go away, come again another day.
little children wants to play.
for heaven's sake. it's CHRISTMAS! it's supposed to snow! not rain!
i'd rather have a sunny christmas than one so blue.

santa can you hear me?

Merry Merry X'mas everyone!!! (:
some peeektures to share
from the LTC (like wow, they are SO efficient. the camp was a MONTH ago. not alot of pictures what, take so long to upload?)

basically this is the "birdhouses" we sleep in. downstairs=belongings and upstairs=sleeping.
can hold about, 20 girls?

before we set off for our Sea Expedition, aka five bloody hours of Kayaking. that's sylvia smiling away happily and hui yen helping her with the paddles. can you spot me? (so sian-ed)

aint this a pretty picture of our kayaks all ready to set off???

Camelot rafting and listening for instructions (: can you spot me??? *hint: pink cap*

THAT, was our lunch kay. few pathetic pieces of biscuits with umm, raisins embedded in it? and passed along i-dont-know-how-many-hands. (pink cap unglam me again)

Camelot kena scolding for being behind time. basically, according to the teachers, we spent more time floating than kayaking. WA LAO. but Camelot was the worst sun burnt sub-camp with people suffering from near 2nd degree burns! the burns actually distracted us from the five hours kayaking muscles overload.

a very nice and pretty picture of ms choong!!! but you definitely cannot imagine her in classes when you see this sweet smiling picture of her... -shudders-

that's Shao Jie with Bedivere flag!!! all set and ready for our Urban Trek! civilization!!! here we come!!! you cannot imagine how excited we were, seeing civilization again. it's the first camp i've been to that i wanted it to end so badly by the end of 2nd day, that i was near home sick. we were thrilled even by the sight of Breadtalk k.

Jia Ying being bedazzled by the sudden bright light after being blindfolded for so long, and Xu Yuan still being blindfolded...

Bedivere!!!
From left: Shara(holding the flag), Ming Xian, Shao Jie, Sheng Xiang, Sylvia (laughing away), Hui Yen, Facilitator Minglin (in white), Ivan (twist), Facilitator Raymond (in red), Jamie, Yi Fang, Xu Yuan, Facilitator Jun Kai (in white), me (!!!), Jia Ying.

Bedivere presenting.... Sylvia, the gung ho girl! "Baby 不要在哭泣... ..."

Facilitators and some teachers.

Facilitators and Teachers.

Last photo of the finale night. Bedi the Chao Tah! (ole ole ah ah...)

i wonder if monk is having a white christmas in Japan?
hmmm.. wishlist, someone asks?
but i doubt i'll come up with one yet.
cuz i dont think many would get me any christmas present except family.
one will be up soon though, cuz three months from now, YOU know what's coming... *winks*

the bored.

the father and the daughter went sea-swimming today! (:
haven't went sea-swimming for the longest time.
i used to go almost every week when i was much younger as the father is a fan of sea-swimmming, being brought up at the grandfather's kampong at ipoh, perak :D
so much more tiring, swimming in the sea than the pool.
we didn't even like, do laps. just trying to keep our balance and float and swimming around battling with the waves was enough to make me take a nap when i was back home.
(people who know me knows i rarely take naps)
aye. father nature (the sea is hereby mentioned as father nature cuz i think mother nature sounds "earthy" and sea is more "ferocious" at times so is of course the male. haha!) seemed to be tossing me around.
several times i was uncontrollably washed unto the shore and dragged back into the sea and then washed ashore and dragged back again. ultra difficult to find my balance.
the easiest way? cling unto the father. hee.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am going to die at 84. When are you? Click here to find out!

wow. 84. pretty cool! quite a good age to die cuz i wont be too old to move about and hopefully i wont be bothered by any ailments >.<

The Stupid Quiz said I am "Pretty Smart!" How stupid are you? Click here to find out!

yay. i'm smart!!!(((:

i wonder how is the monk?

shopping vs reading

bought "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The five people you meet in Heaven" (!!!!!)
i'm so happy.
like claire, i need a more cultured and refined life. haha.
instead of shopping all DAY long. i havent been reading for a HELL LONG TIME!!!
(except harry potter 1-4 at the beginnin of hols...)
Da Ge's sponsoring more books!
so i'm getting the new book "One More Day" by Mitch Albom and the ENTIRE Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella and the ENTIRE "Why Men... Why Women..." series by Allan and Babara Pease.
I cannot stand going to the library and borrow cuz they are ALWAYS on loan.
and i'd like to re-read them so might as well buy them. (:

that reminds me, i still have "Wuthering Heights" to read. bought it long ago for only a few bucks.
and i'd like to re-read "Red Sky in the Morning" too. it's a good literature.
oh yarh. and my "天厨记"!!! (sec 4 june hols' 阅读报告) i stopped at book 3. bahhh. just a mile more to the ending. so now i think i'll re-read it again!
yay.

carmen promises to read EVERYTHING!
so addicted to shopping now...
even WINDOW shopping... (but i hate it sometimes cuz i cant buy anything)
bought 2 tops that says "Saw it Wanted it Threw a tantrum and Got it" aha. so like me.
and another that says "they say that money talks but mine just says GOODBYE" yeap. exactly. >.<

shopping vs reading.
i wonder which will triumph which now. the latter sure wins in the past. but now, i'm not so sure! hehs.
the monk is gone... to japan. with his family. he was gone this morning :(
the nun is missing the monk already.
just hope that he'll bring back loads of gifts for me as promised!

The Long Awaited Wedding

Had initially wanted to squeeze everything into an ultimate long post.
but cuz i'm using firefox now, it's very troublesome. (for those who blogs, when the photos are uploaded, they appear right at the top of the text box. only in IE can i conveniently drag it to wherever i want, but with firefox, i have to drag and drop and drag and drop as the stupid text box wont scroll down. bahhh.)
so, i couldn't take it no more and hence another post for the wedding! (:

Mariott Hotel
wedding of cousin desmond and chu san
(:
Me and Mummy at the cocktail holding area's X'mas tree (:
the lady on the right's my cousin beng's new girlfriend.

pretty x'mas tree~my lovely flower girl niece, Rachel! (i'm her 姑姑! sounds so old.. :( cuz her dad, not only is my cousin but also my god brother..) nephew keith, rachel's brother, is hiding behind her.
haha. on the right the tall girl in spagh dress is cousin zhiyong's girlfriend (!!!) they're both DOCTORS. -gasps- the other one who's a little more on the plus size side is cousin alice.
and the group standin near the x'mas tree are my cousins but i cant tell who's who.

the three pretty pretty flower girls (:

TADA! my aunt cum godmother. (姨妈妈) so happy another son of hers is married le. 2 down. 2 more to go! hahaha.
cousin desmond & my new chu san sister-in-law. (supposed to be cousin-in-law i think but i'm godsis ma!) couldn't catch a close up cuz when they were walkin down the aisle this stupid waiter walked passed when i had this perfect chance of capturing both of them! *curse*my mum was held in suspense when my da ge requested for an additional seat. (!!!) bugged me so many times if i know who he's bringing.. she suspects i was lying when i said i didn't know. "how can da ge not tell you! u both are so close!"
so, this is why this wedding is "long awaited". both by my 姨妈妈 and my 妈妈!hahaha.
picture of my da ge & his new girlfriend, serene (:
okay, this picture doesn't do her justice cuz she's really rather pretty in real life.sweet too! the lighting was bad for photos too. i didn't want to show the one with flash cuz she blinked.

super tired after the wedding cuz of the chain of events. chalet plus early mornin tea ceremony plus late night wedding dinner. >.<
the heels were killing me too.

PIC - a - boo

busy busy, dizzy~
a whirl of events have passed before i had the time to blog =P

20th December 2006, wednesday
the monk and the nun went for lunch and den to the zoo!!!
but, sad to say, when we reached there, it was showering. bahhh.
rested at the KFC until the showers reduced to light drizzle.
and you know what?
we went to toilet and came out to find that the ticket booth was C-L-O-S-E-D.
and we saw that they close the booth at 1730, and you know what time was it???
1735.

Mandai Zoo!!!!! (why didn't you wait for me???)

utter disappointment and downright depression is an understatement.
especially when i was looking forward to this trip to the Zoo for a hell long time.
the nun threw a small tantrum which involved pouting and ignoring the monk. >.<

Bye Mandai Zoo :(
Hello Night Safari!

The ULU MOUNTAIN monk.

"Welcome"

true enough, i was so freaked out by the darkness and the eerieness, i just felt like leaving the place immediately when the sky turned dark. clawing onto the monk like i was a koala bear on a tree trunk and i'm sure his shirt expanded after the excursion. i kept thinking that some wolf or bane or leopard or whatever would come pouncing on us out of the sudden from the forest on the sides of the pathway. this thought is hell scary enough without the darkness engulfing us as the stupid lamps aren't of much help lighting the paths; plus the constant buzzing and humming and whatever of insects; and birds swooping over your head once in a while scaring the wits out of you; plus occasion howling from the wolfs.
and the dozen mosquitoes does help alot thanks, in draining more blood out of my skin. :(
like the blood drained from my face isn't enough already, they had to drain more from my legs!
i couldn't tahan anymore and when we reached the tram station (finally), we bought tickets and took the tram.

"Boohoo! I got bitten by a dozen mosquitoes!!!"
-itchy itchy scratchy scratchy-

the photo taking session later did help forget the horrors of the Night Safari though.

but what happened after the Night Safari..
sighs. another disappointing but maluating event.
bahhhh humbug.
but i wasn't as disappointed as the zoo incident. haha.
supper at Clarke Quay!

what can i say?
MY CAMERA COULD CAPTURE SMOKE!!!!
omhmc.
uber tired. reached our chalet at like, 330am?
we only slept at 5am.
woke up at 10 the next day and we went to Escape Theme Park!!! (:

21 December 2006, thursday
first up, was Go Kart (Advance Track)

followed by Pirate Ship! (i love the feeling of losing my stomach! ha.)

say cheese! we took pictures while queuing.

up next was Rainbow!

boohoo. hey! at least i meet the height limit kay!

and then Wall's i-dont-know-what. yay. i challenged the thing i dared not challenge in the past! (:
-nauseated- (the lack of sleep makes taking giddy rides a 100 times worse than you take it when you have all the sleep you need)

den we went for Wet & Wild! (:
and den Bumper Boat.
poor me was cornered by the monk and a bunch of other kids.
the feeling of "寡不敌众" rooted in me that moment.
the station master even said "Aiyo, so wet, you dont need bathe already. Just go home larh."
:(((
our last station was the Haunted House.
it was rather stupid as there was only ONE "real" ghost being (aka a person impersonating a ghost)
as there were only two of us, we went in along with 3 SN girls behind us.
like, OMG.
one of the girls actually cried when we "escaped" from the Haunted House.
and the girl that cried was behind me all the way.
she left some abrasions on my right shoulder from clawing and digging her nails all the way in the Haunted House. :(((
and though i wasn't really afraid, i dug into the monk's arm cuz she was holding on to me so hard it hurts.

Our Mini BBQ session:
the monk BBQ-ingthe nun BBQ-ing (yuck, can see my UGLY tan line from LTC. ugh.)Chicken on Fire!BBQ~
food!!! -drools-

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy Six Months!!! (:

The Monk got for The Nun:
AHH! The Desperate Housewives that i've been craving for!!!
(I only mentioned it in a passing while watching season 2 that i've missed so much of season 1, i dont understand a thing.)
The Charmed!!!! What more could get me going than Charmed?!?!!! (anyone who knows me knows i'm a charmed freak. now i bet xiuyi would love this piece of news. haha.)
the power of three will set me free!!!

The Monk made me an oreo cheesecake too!!! and a card (:
(it's too sour) but i still loved it. i like the base (:
sometimes it tastes nice la, and it's unique.
anyway, it's his first attempt! i'm looking forward to the next one! =)

The Nun got for The Monk:
coupled converse shoes!!!
they were actually school shoes but i painted them.. and added some glittered designs..
and signed our names. (:
a Puma bag from Bugis St.
and a belt from Topshop.
and a handmade card (: sweet.
